Clever Fox Food Journal Review

Let’s Talk About The Basics

This is the newest addition to the Clever Fox family of planners and journals. This is just the type of food journal that is needed on the market today. Not only that, but it’s by the best journal people out there.

You can find this in an A5 size, hard cover, bound book, and in six different colors. The one featured here is the neon yellow one. They can be found in light blue, light pink, black, rose gold, neon yellow, and turquoise. You should not have a problem finding the right color for you.

The small size makes it easy to toss in a bag or purse, so that you are never without it. The band that wraps around it to keep it from opening, is nice because it will keep it closed so the pages don’t get messed up while carrying it around with you. The pen holder is nice to have so that you always have it handy, and never have to search when writing down your daily food intake and more.

Another really neat thing about this food journal is that it comes with stickers. The sticker sheets help to keep you motivated and on track. It also adds a colorful flare to your journal. I always enjoy using them for a fun and to remind me how far I have come along my journey.

The Inside of the Food Journal

When you open up the food journal there is starting page to list your measurements, weight, height, and a place for a before picture. There is also a place to write in a reward for when you hit those targets. You can find a place to record where you want your measurements for your target as well. 

On the next page you have space to write about your goals, and how to achieve them and how you will feel once you do. At the bottom you will find a small dot grid area that will give you a space for notes or doodling. I use this space almost like a vision board. I love to draw or write in what I want out of my future health.

The rest of the journal is full of daily tracking pages. These pages include tracking your meals for the day, exercise, water, alcohol, gluten, sugar, energy, caffeine, nicotine usage, weight, body fat, and even what mood you were in. I have found I really love the mood tracker. Knowing what mood I was in on a particular day helps me to see how that affects my food intake, exercise, and other bad habits I have. This allows me to make a plan to improve them, or come up with my own coping mechanisms to overcome them.

At the end of the journal you will find dot grid pages. There are quite a few of these. They are great for jotting down notes, drawing out your visions for your health and fitness related goals. These can be used for any reason you would like and gives you that much needed space.

You will find next in the food journal some pages that allow you to track your measurements. These are great for keeping a running record of how you are doing. These are super helpful.

At the end you have another measurement tracking page much like the first. Next you have quite a few dot grid pages, that you can use however you see the need. They would make a great place to record your thoughts bullet journal style. 

Overall Thoughts

I really love this journal, because it is so very important that you record what you are eating each day. If you are looking to lose weight or just eat healthier. So many people dont realize how much they are actually eating. Then there are more that don’t realize what they are eating. They believe they are eating healthy, but when they look back over what their journal, its easy to see where to improve. The same principle can be used for how much one eats. Seeing it written down really puts things into perspective. 

Another thing I love about this journal is that it allows you to put in your own reward system. How will you reward yourself as you reach each of your goals. You will also be able to make notes if you don’t reach your goal on how you will continue on the path and the changes you can make in order to reach them.

I believe this a great food journal, and I would highly recommend it. Even if you are not one to count calories, it is still important to keep up with what you eat in a day. This can even be to just make sure that you get in all the nutrients you want to have within a day.
